Following the last Regional Conference on Women with Disabilities held in Hong Kong in January, 2008, this will be the second grand gathering for women with disabilities in Asia. The main purpose of the conference is to associate the disabled women organizations in Asia, especially those in East Asia and South-east Asia, and the organizations and individuals that are concerned about issues about women with disabilities. It is also an aim of the conference that we will try to find out the difficulties that women with disabilities are confronted with in their way of development and to explore new ideas and new solutions to overcome the difficulties. Another aim is to share experience of the progress that women with disabilities have made in different countries and regions and to improve the quality of life of local women with disabilities.
